The Milwaukee County
D.R.E.A.M. Fund

call to duty

The Milwaukee County D.R.E.A.M. Fund was established in 1997 by Deputy Robin Blomberg as the David Demos Memorial Scholarship Fund. Deputy David Demos of the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department was struck and killed by a drunk driver while in the process of assisting a motorist.

After the untimely and tragic deaths of Deputy Ralph Zylka and Deputy Sunny Bang in 2000, the board members decided to change the organizations name to honor the two additional fallen heroes. Deputy Zylka and Deputy Bang were returning from a search for the suspect wanted in the murder of a Chicago Police Officer when their department helicopter crashed.

The Fund was established to invest in the future of our children by providing college scholarships. We believe this to be a lasting memorial to those deputies who have made the ultimate sacrifice and died in the line of duty.
